My first foray into serious writing was a journalistic endeavor. Not one to shy away from a challenge, I convinced my neighbor to help me write and publish a newspaper. It was a pretty big endeavor for an eight-year-old kid armed with a bunch of scrap paper and her dad’s old typewriter.
I’ve had lots of wonderful writing experiences, but I figured it was time to write something I enjoyed reading and share the adventure.

By the way, I eventually fulfilled my dream of becoming a regular columnist. I wrote an advice column for seniors in a local newspaper. I didn't make the first page, but I had a lot of fun!
